Looking for a reason to wake up early on Sundays? The Canton Farmers Market is back, and trust us, it’s worth setting that alarm. Starting May 11, 2025, this weekly event will run every Sunday through October 12, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine. Whether you’re a foodie, a local business supporter, or someone who just loves fresh air and good vibes, this market has something for everyone.
Where the Magic Happens
This year, the market kicks off at the Village Arts Factory (50755 Cherry Hill Road, Canton, MI), a charming spot that will host the market until July 25, 2025, due to construction at Preservation Park. After that, the market will return to its usual location at Preservation Park (500 N. Ridge Road). Pro tip: Check out Cherry Hill Village for parking details before heading over.
Mark Your Calendar (and Skip These Dates)
The market will be closed on May 25, June 15, July 6, August 31, and September 28. So plan your visits wisely—there are too many goodies to miss out on!
Why Sundays Are Better at the Farmers Market
Fresh and Local Goodness
Let’s talk produce. The Canton Farmers Market is all about supporting Michigan agriculture. That means you’re getting fruits, veggies, and other goods that are fresher than anything you’ll find at a grocery store. Plus, buying local helps preserve farmland and supports the local economy. It’s a win-win.
Beyond Groceries
This isn’t just about shopping for ingredients—it’s an experience. Each Sunday features:
- Live music to keep your toes tapping.
- Cooking demos that might just inspire your next dinner masterpiece.
- A chance to meet local artisans and vendors offering everything from baked goods to handmade crafts.
And if you’re bringing kids along, they’ll love the new Kids’ Produce Club, where they can learn about seasonal produce through fun activities like chef demos and crafts.
What’s New This Year?
Lunch at the Market
Feeling peckish? Food trucks and pop-up vendors will be serving up delicious snacks and meals on select market days. Grab a bite and enjoy it on the lawn of the historic Bartlett-Travis House.
Ask a Master Gardener
Got a green thumb—or wish you did? The Master Gardener volunteers are here to answer all your gardening questions. From container gardening tips to advice on houseplants, they’ve got you covered.
Dog-Friendly Fun
Dog lovers rejoice! While you shop, your furry friends can have their own adventure at Canton’s six-acre Dog Park near Preservation Park.
Special Events You Can’t Miss
The Canton Farmers Market spices things up with special events throughout the season:
- Bark in the Park (May 18): Bring your pup for live entertainment and pet-friendly vendors.
